Joaquin Phoenix and Parker Posey got their weeks off to stylish starts at the Los Angeles premiere of their new film Beau Is Afraid.
Phoenix, 48, and Posey, 54, were spotted on the red carpet at the premiere, held at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.
Phoenix – who admitted last week he fainted on the set during an intense scene – was also spotted on the red carpet posing with the film’s writer-director Ari Aster and producer Lars Knudsen.
Also spotted on the red carpet were actresses Zoe Lister-Jones and Jaime Ray Newman.
Beau is Afraid is slated for release on April 21, going up against Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Evil Dead Rise and To Catch a Killer.

Colorful Parker: His co-star Parker Posey opted for a much more colorful look with a pink spaghetti strap ruffled dress that fell to her ankles
Phoenix stepped out with a white dress shirt under a black jacket with black sunglasses on the red carpet.
He sported the early makings of a growing beard, also clad in black pants and black Converse low top sneakers.

She rocked a pink floral necklace and accessorized with gold earrings and rings for the event.
The actress completed her look with red pumps for her red carpet look on Monday evening.
Beau Is Afraid is the third feature film written and directed by Ari Aster, after his feature film debut, 2018’s Hereditary and 2019’s Midsommar.
The film follows Phoenix’s title character Beau Wassermann, whose life is turned upside down after the sudden death of his mother (Patti LuPone).
Beau, described as a, ‘mild-mannered but anxiety-ridden man,’ must confront his darkest fears as, ‘he embarks on an epic, Kafkaesque odyssey back home.’

Aster had been developing the feature film for many years, with one of his short films, 2011’s Beau, inspiring a sequence in the feature film.
The filmmaker has described the project as a ‘nightmare comedy’ and a ‘Jewish Lord of the Rings but he’s just going to his mom’s house.’
The film cost $35 million and is said to be indie distributor A24’s most expensive film to date.
Zoe Lister-Jones opted for a strapless pink minidress with red platform heels for the outing.
The actress plays the younger version of Beau’s mother in the highly-anticipated film from A24 Films.
Joaquin and Zoe were photographed conversing on the red carpet before making their way in to the film.
Joaquin and Zoe also posed in a group shot with Julia Antonelli, Kylie Rogers, Michael Gandolfini, Armen Nahapetian, Richard Kind, Director Ari Aster and Producer Lars Knudsen.
Actress Jaime Ray Newman was also seen on the red carpet, along with singer Kesha as well.
