WWE could soon be adding a new collaboration to its growing list of partnerships, this time with Microsoft’s Call of Duty franchise.
According to WrestleVotes on “WrestleVotes Radio,” WWE is in discussions with Microsoft to produce commemorative championship belts themed around the popular first-person shooter. The belts could be released in time for the upcoming holiday season.
WWE is in a line of talks with Microsoft for a video game line, specifically the Call of Duty game. We can see Call of Duty commemorative championship titles on the horizon, potentially around the Christmas time.
This potential collaboration would not be the first time the two franchises have joined forces. Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley were featured as operator skins in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. The collaboration even allowed players to perform signature moves like Rhea Ripley’s Riptide in the heat of battle.
WWE has become known for producing special-edition championship belts in recent years, having previously partnered with the NFL and NHL to release commemorative belts for sports fans. The potential partnership with Microsoft could pave the way for themed belts beyond Call of Duty, possibly including titles inspired by other popular franchises such as Halo, Gears of War, and The Elder Scrolls.
If the deal is finalised, fans could look forward to exclusive WWE-themed Call of Duty belts and with the holiday season approaching, WWE and Microsoft may aim to capitalise on the gift-giving spirit, offering collectors and gamers alike a unique piece of crossover memorabilia.
