Season 2 of Extraordinary didn’t disappoint fans, delivering plenty of crazy adventures and rude humour. The second instalment included a musical, a journey into the subconscious, family dramas and even a possession.
Emma Moran, the series creator, once again took viewers on a visit to the twenty-somethings trying to get their lives under control. As if adulthood wasn’t complicated enough, Carrie, Kash and Jizzlord had to additionally deal with their superpowers, which became the source of unforeseen accidents.
Jen, on the other hand, continued her journey in search of her powers. As usual, everything turned out differently than she could have imagined.
Extraordinary is one of the most interesting series created by Disney and certainly one of the most original productions in the superhero genre. But what does the future hold for this edgy tale? We’ve rounded up everything we know about the future of Extraordinary.
Sadly, no. Disney cancelled the show despite the cliffhanger at the end of season 2.
As a Disney representative stated (via Variety):
Disney+ Original series ‘Extraordinary’ will not be returning for a third season on the service. We’re so proud of the hilarious, award-winning series brought to life by the incredibly talented British and Irish cast and crew, our production partners at Sid Gentle Films, and the exceptional writing talent of creator Emma Moran.
Can some other platform take over the series? So far, there is no news on this subject, but we’ll update this article as soon as any information appears.

As we mentioned above, Extraordinary hasn’t been renewed for a third season. However, this is where the story left off:
Spoilers for the second season of Extraordinary.
In season 2, Jen finally joined the Power Discovery Program and tried to uncover why she doesn’t have superpowers. Together with psychic counsellor George, she tore through her messed-up, twisted subconscious, confronting old traumas. Although the therapy seemed to be working, Jen had to stop it when it came to light that she was involved in an affair with her therapist.
But that wasn’t the only romantic issue for Jen. After it came out that Jizzlord had a family, Jen got into an unhealthy rivalry with his wife, Nora, a seemingly perfect influencer. She managed to win this clash – mainly because Nora’s lies were revealed.
Kash and Carrie also faced their own problems. After the breakup, they both tried to arrange their lives anew, but it seemed they still felt something for each other. Eventually, Kash started dating Clark, a colleague from work. Carrie, on the other hand, decided to take care of herself and work on her independence. The ex-couple, however, chooses to stay good friends.
The season ended with an unexpected event. While throwing rubbish into the void at the landfill, Kash accidentally pushed Jen into an abyss. The girl found herself in a mysterious world on the other side.

If the show were to get picked up, the story would almost certainly focus on getting Jen out of the place she landed in. There was another world on the other side of the void, but in the season 2 finale, we only got a glimpse of it. Is it an alternate reality? Or the future or past of Jen’s world? Or a completely different planet?
It would have also been nice to see what would happen to Kash and Carrie after they decided to stop dating – whether they would get back together or find new partners. The same applies to Jen and Jizzlord, who had a crush on each other in season 2.
The third season could have also finally answered the biggest question in the series… would Jen finally get superpowers? And what will those powers be? Unfortunately, without new episodes, we will never know what amazing abilities Jen could have.
