A DAD who “hit a home run” when he found school dresses scanning for just 3p in Tesco has defended himself after clearing the shelves.
Peter explained that he was shopping in Tesco in Blackpool Clifton when he noticed that “everything was scanning at 0.03 instead of £7 or £2.50”.
“So we bought a shed load but in differing sizes so that we can donate them to our school on Monday,” he added.
Peter said that while he could “make a profit” selling on the school uniform, he had decided to try and “help others” instead.
“We could make a profit on marketplace but we’ve just got a few for our daughter and then are helping others at the same time,” he wrote alongside pictures of the items on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook.
“What comes around goes around as they say!”
Alongside the post, Peter shared pictures of the school clothes, as well as his receipt, which showed that he’d saved £266.25 on the haul.
People were quick to comment on the post, with many praising Peter for his kind actions.
“Well done!! Karma is amazing, my mum says what goes around comes around,” one wrote.
“That’s the right thing to do, helping others!”another added.
“Little things are a big help to others . Thank you for the gesture!”
“Well done you,” a third commented.
“I constantly check the clearance stuff in my supermarkets and if I can’t use it, I buy to pop in the food bank trolley on the way out.
“When Asda had the £1 baby wipes I would often get a pack with my shopping and chuck them in.
“What goes around comes around!”
“Good!! Makes up for their ridiculous price hikes!!!” someone else said.
As another added: “That’s a really lovely thing to do. Hopefully it can help others in need.
“Well done!”
“In Tesco’s own words ‘every little helps’,” someone else joked.
“How kind and thoughtful,” another praised.
“I picked up a pack of 2 dresses a few weeks back that was reduced to £6 or £7 plus had 25%.
