TV fans have absolutely no doubt in their minds that a character who seemingly suffered a horrible death on screen is being primed for a resurrection in an exciting return.

In 2021, WandaVision took the world by storm when it became the first TV series to be released by Marvel Studios, with many people hailing it as one of the studio’s best ever releases.

The show – which followed Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame – introduced viewers to a brand new character in the MCU: the conniving witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn).

Given the popularity of Agatha as a villain who audiences can’t help but love, it came as a huge delight when it was revealed that she was getting her very own spin-off series titled Agatha All Along, which is set to come out on Disney Plus later this year.

The last time that fans saw Wanda was when she appeared in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which saw her resort to extremely dark and deadly means to try and see her children Billy (Julian Hilliard) and Tommy (Jett Klyne) again.

By the end of the movie, she realises the error of her ways and sacrifices herself by destroying a castle and causing it to come crashing down on top of her, resulting in a truly gruesome death.

But did she really die?

Following the release of Doctor Strange 2, there were fans who speculated – and hoped – that this wasn’t really the end for Wanda.

Now, clues in the brand new trailer for Agatha All Along appear to have hinted that a comeback for Wanda is indeed on the cards.

At the start of the teaser, Agatha – who now appears to be working as a detective – comes across a body dubbed ‘Jane Doe’, who died by ‘blunt force trauma’.

On closer inspection, the fingers of the deceased woman’s body have been tarnished black, which is what happened to Wanda when she was using the Darkhold, otherwise known as the Book of the Damned.

When Agatha examines the body again at a morgue, which is located in Westview (where WandaVision took place), a name suddenly appears on a paper in red handwriting, which reads: ‘W. Maximoff.’

Agatha is told by newcomer Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza) that she’s been trapped in Wanda’s ‘distorted spell’, after Wanda left her at the end of WandaVision under the illusion that she was really Agnes, the nosy neighbour.

The villainous and reawakened Agatha then sets off on a journey to try and restore her lost powers with a new coven, which includes Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone) and Billy Kaplan (Joe Locke).

Following the release of the trailer, several fans said that they were convinced that Wanda’s return is definitely happening.

‘Yeah no… even AGATHA doesn’t believe this 😭 Wanda is NOT DEAD and we’re probably gonna discover something about her through the episodes,’ @filmzwanda wrote on X.

‘Wanda is back… just wait and see,’ @palomaordaz added on Instagram, while @elliel3_stated: ‘Marvel I swear if Wanda doesn’t make a return. COUNT. UR. DAYS.’

An Elizabeth Olsen fan account called @lizzieolsennow questioned: ‘Soooo Wanda’s coming back righttt?’, while @richardchazgomez simply remarked about the trailer on the whole: ‘This is everything I needed it to be.’

Agatha All Along is set to premiere on Thursday September 19 on Disney Plus.
