THE Telegraph Hotel is Coventry’s newest boutique hotel, opening in the former offices of the Coventry Evening Telegraph.

Ahead of the year’s planned events and performances as part of Coventry’s City of Culture, the hotel is the perfect location to explore the city.

  1. Where is the Telegraph Hotel?

The Telegraph Hotel is located in the former Coventry Evening Telegraph office in the middle of the city of Coventry.

The easiest way to get there is by train, with trips from London to Coventry less than an hour, and the hotel a short walk from the station.

The hotel does not offer on-site car parking but does offer discounts when booking through the website with nearby car parks.

  1. What is the Telegraph Hotel like?

The mid-century hotel plays on it’s 1950s interiors, with Mad-Men-esque bars and lounge areas, featuring fancy marble pillars, terrazzo flooring and wood panel walls.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring Coventry, being a short walk from the city centre.

There are 88 rooms, ranging from their smallest Snug rooms to two large suites and six accessibility rooms.

  1. What is there to do at the Telegraph Hotel?

Located on-site is the Forme & Chase restaurant, offering a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu under their large glass ceiling, as well as a 1950s cocktail bar in the lobby.

On the rooftop is the Generator bar, serving bar snacks and cocktails throughout the day.

While there isn’t much else to do in the hotel, the city of Coventry has a range of restaurants and attractions to make the most of.

Just outside the city is container village FarGo, with a brewery, food hall and vintage and antique sellers.

Also at FarGo is Gourmet Food Kitchen, the highest rated restaurant on TripAdvisor in Coventry offering intimate tasting evenings with a changing monthly menu, although bookings are advised well in advance due to its popularity.

There is also the Transport Museum, Music Museum and Herbert Art Gallery to pass the time in, while the shopping centre is also found in the city centre.

The Forme & Chase restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.

While a small menu, breakfast includes cold pastries and cereals as well as hot options including Eggs California, Full English or pancakes.

The lunch and dinner menu offers burgers or something from the grill, as well as a dessert menu with highlights being the chocolate and passionfruit Baked Alaska.

The bar menu, available from 10am to 8:30pm, has snacks as well as cocktails, or offers a Telegraph Afternoon Tea with the Coventry Godcake.

The rooftop bar also has hot and cold small plates as well as a classic menu of cocktails including Cosmopolitans and Espresso Martinis.
