iCal at the ready: Saturday, May 11 2019. In case you didn’t already know, the annual #SheInspiresMe car boot sale in aid of Women For Women International, hosted by The Store’s Alex Eagle, and in partnership with TheOutnet.com, is an event not to be missed. It’s less bric-a-brac, more Balenciaga; less junk, more Junya; less shambles, more… Chanel. You get the idea.

Alex Eagle by Oscar Piccolo.
“My loot will include some old Celine and Prada pieces and a selection of fabulous vintage finds,” enthuses Alex, who has invited 50 sellers to set up shop in Soho’s Brewer Street car park. And not just any sellers – but women and designers whose wardrobes you’d wholeheartedly want to rummage through, from Alexa Chung and Camille Charriere to Charlotte Dellal, Hikari Yokoyama and Quentin Jones. In addition to womenswear and beauty (Charlotte Tilbury is pitching up, too), you can also find beautiful childrenswear donated by Caramel, among other brands.

“It’s such an exhilarating day,” adds Alex, speaking of an event where 100 per cent of proceeds raised benefit women survivors of war. “There’s something magical about women all coming together and the clothes sitting in your wardrobe unworn being turned into instant cash for other women so greatly in need of it. I also love the idea of these clothes having a second life, to be re-worn and re-loved. It’s great for the environment – and for the soul.”
Last year’s event welcomed over 1,500 shoppers and raised more than £222,000. Guilt free shopping never felt so good.
Tickets cost £10. Visit www.womenforwomen.org.uk to book now.
