For two seemingly endless years, fans have been waiting for an update about the fate of this Amazon Prime Video dystopian drama, and now, there’s finally news about whether it will return or not. The Power, starring Toni Collette, premiered on March 31, two years ago and ran until May 12, comprising nine episodes. Unfortunately, it appears that it will not return for another run, as TVLine has confirmed that The Power is, in fact, canceled.”

The American-British series was first announced in 2019 with Jane Featherstone and Reed Morano set to adapt Naomi Alderman’s book of the same name for Amazon. However, Morano exited in March 2022, opting not to be credited as director and executive producer. The Power was developed by Raelle Tucker, Alderman, Claire Wilson, and Sarah Quintrell with its writers’ room featuring only female creatives including Wilson, Quintrell, Whit Anderson, Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Rebecca Levene, Tucker, Sue Chung, Brennan Peters, and Michelle Hsu.
