Taylor Swift 'curse' blamed for Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl flop

Super Bowl fans have sparked a heated debate online, pointing the finger at Taylor Swift and her so-called “curse” after the Kansas City Chiefs‘ dismal performance on the NFL’s biggest stage.

With the team faltering in a way no one expected, some frustrated supporters are blaming the pop superstar’s high-profile romance with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for their shocking Super Bowl slump. Social media was ablaze with claims that Swift’s presence has somehow jinxed the team, with fans joking that her “love story” with Kelce is turning into a nightmare for Kansas City.

As the third quarter saw the Philadelphia Eagles up 27-0 against Travis’ Chiefs, the unprecedented score had fans in uproar:

“Chiefs losin’ because of dat Taylor Swift Curse,’ said one fan. Another agreed: “Taylor swift take that T necklace OFF it’s a curse”.

A third chimed in: “I tried to tell everyone, the Chiefs were going to lose. Taylor Swift brought bad karma into the stadium,” and “The curse of Taylor Swift, KC can’t seem to “Shake It Off”.

Ever since the Shake It Off hitmaker started dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, conspiracy theories have swirled that she’s bringing bad luck to his team.

Initially, Swift was seen as a lucky charm, with the Chiefs winning several games while she cheered them on from the stands. But as soon as the team hit a rough patch, critics were quick to blame the pop megastar, claiming the so-called Taylor Swift curse was behind their struggles.

The pop icon faced an unexpected reaction during Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX when fans loudly booed as her image appeared on the big screen.

Swift was in the stands cheering him on as went in pursuit of an unprecedented three consecutive Super Bowl victories.

However, when the superstar’s face appeared on the stadium jumbotron, it was met with a resounding chorus of boos from the Eagles fans inside Caesars Superdome in New Orleans

The music icon’s celeb pals and enormous fan base were quick to defend the star.

Tennise ace Serena Williams took to X to blast: “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!”

Another agreed: “grown ass men booing taylor swift seriously get a grip”

The singer seemed taken aback by the boos, which took place in the game’s first quarter. She was seen glancing nervously at a friend seated beside her and appearing to say: “What is going on?”.

This time last year, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was asked whether Swift’s relationship with Kelce was part of a scripted plan to draw more attention to the NFL. He dismissed the notion, joking: “I don’t think I’m that good of a scripter or anybody on our staff. There’s no way that I could have scripted that one.”
