Following the Super Bowl and the Eras Tour, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are finally able to take a breather and spend some quality time together. Despite their high-profile status and constant demand, an insider has revealed that the couple plans to “have a break together” after Kelce’s team suffered a defeat on Sunday night.
The Kansas City Chiefs, the defending champions, battled against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, but unfortunately, they lost with a final score of 40-22, which was reportedly “upsetting for everyone.”
Nevertheless, the setback hasn’t deterred the couple from looking ahead to their future. A source told PEOPLE magazine: “Their lives have been a whirlwind since they first started dating. Things seem great between them, and they’re incredibly happy together.”
Taylor, 35, was a regular fixture at the Chiefs games this season, including the Super Bowl in New Orleans last weekend.
Joined by her brother Austin, father Scott, and friends like Ice Spice and Ashley Avignone, the singer enthusiastically supported her boyfriend as he aimed for his third consecutive win at the NFL’s biggest event, reports The Mirror.
“She truly loves watching Travis play,” a source revealed, and regardless of the game’s outcome, Taylor Swift never fails to show her support for boyfriend Travis Kelce. The NFL star reciprocates this sentiment, having attended numerous sell-out shows of Taylor’s Eras tour as she travelled globally.
Despite the Chiefs’ disappointing loss, there was additional tension for Travis’ brother, Jason, who retired from the NFL last year after a career with the Philadelphia Eagles. “There isn’t a person I love or care about more [than Travis],” he posted on social media.
“It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity.”
“He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past.”
Despite the setback, Travis remains undeterred, stating just hours before Sunday night’s game that he was the “happiest he’s ever been”.
Travis Kelce expressed his contentment with life, saying to Westwood One Sports: “I think I found it all. I just gotta, you know, keep it all. I absolutely love where I’m at in life,” He continued, “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m enjoying coming in to work and what I do for a profession in my career. And I have an unbelievable support of family and friends who are chasing me down here for yet another Super Bowl. I’m just a very fortunate individual and [I’m] trying to take advantage of all the good days I got.”
As for his future with Taylor Swift, it seems promising, with his father Ed Kelce hinting that they might “connect more” once their busy schedules settle down. Ed Kelce shared on Australia’s Today show: “I think we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good period for the two of them without the NFL season, with the Eras Tour. Just them alone, really connecting more. And I think that can only be a good thing.”
