Following its release on October 10 and the inevitable sofa session which saw us make swift work of the new six-part series, the Sweetpea soundtrack has been on a loop in our heads ever since.
A Sky Atlantic dark comedy starring Ella Purnell, the series follows the story of Rhiannan Lewis, an administrative assistant at a local newspaper who is often referred to as ‘Sweetpea’ by her boss.
An adaptation of the book of the same title by CJ Skuse, we quickly see that Rhiannon’s life isn’t as low-key as it might seem on first glance, with her in fact concealing a twisted and wickedly murderous streak.
But without a doubt, one of our favourite elements of the show that adds to its whole tone is the Sweetpea soundtrack. Packed full of hits from pop heavyweights such as Billie Eilish, the Spice Girls, Katy Perry and Blue, here we get into every single song on the Sweetpea soundtrack.
Sweetpea theme song
First off, the eerie, wildly addictive Sweetpea theme song is an original score called ‘Do You See Me Now’ by Isobel Waller-Bridge.
And if that surname sounds familiar then yep, it’s because she is in fact Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s older sister. Also responsible for the Fleabag soundtrack as well as the scores of Vita and Virginia (2018) and Emma (2020), Isobel Waller-Bridge has a pretty impressive roster, to say the least.
We find ourselves completely obsessed with the. delightfully unsettling Sweetpea opening song and are positively desperate for the full version.
