Sir Elton John was hospitalised after suffering a fall at his villa, it has been reported.

Following his tumble, the 76-year-old was taken to the orthopedic department of the Princess Grace hospital centre in Monaco, where he was said to have been treated for minor injuries.

A statement from the Rocket Man singer’s representative read: ‘We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the south of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure.

‘Following check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and his now back at home and in good health.’

The news that Sir Elton is now back home and in good health was confirmed to MailOnline by his representative.

The musician, who delivered one of the most spectacular Glastonbury Pyramid Stage sets ever earlier this year when he performed at the festival as one of the headliners, was recently seen with celebrity pals during his holiday in France.
