SHOPPERS have gone wild for a “delicious” new twist on a classic childhood sweet.
Rowntree’s has tang-ified its traditional Jelly Tots and they’re already flying off UK shelves.
The jelly sweet is made with real fruit juices, is vegan friendly, and comes in a 140g sharing bag.
Its sour taste makes it unique and Rowntree’s describe it as “a flavourful experience that combines nostalgia with tanginess”.
Jelly Tots Tangy became available last week in UK stores, however, its availability is yet to be announced.
Pricing will also vary from shop to shop.
Hayley Nixon, Senior Brand Manager for Rowntree’s, said: “At Rowntree’s, we are dedicated to bringing joy and innovation to our fans.
“With Jelly Tots Tangy, we’ve taken a beloved classic and added a refreshing twist that we believe will resonate with both new and loyal fans alike.
“It’s not just a sweet; it’s a fun experience to share and enjoy together!”
Sour-tooth fans have also gone wild on social media.
One person said: “Looks delicious.”
Followed by a second: “Need to try these.”
And then a third tagged another and said: “This has to be your idea of heaven.”
To which they replied: “Where do I find these beauties.”
Jelly Tots, originally launched in 1965 and owned by Nestle, celebrates its 60th birthday this year.
Over the years, Rowntree’s has both launched and axed numerous products.
We have gained favourites such as the Randoms Fizzy Cactuz in 2024.
But we have also lost flavours such as the Tooty Frooties in 2019.
Nestlé discontinued the multicoloured fruit sweets as part of a shake-up to better align with customer preferences.
Tooty Frooties were chewy, fruit-flavoured sweets with a crunchy, multicoloured shell.
The classic sweet was launched by Mackintosh in 1963 and became an instant hit.
They were particularly popular in the UK during the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
