Samantha Morton narrowly avoids being run down by a motorbike as she films dramatic scenes for Daniel Day-Lewis' comeback film Anemone

Samantha Morton was spotted filming a shocking scene for the upcoming movie, Anemone.

The actress, 46, is taking centre stage in the film alongside Daniel Day-Lewis, who is set to return to acting, seven years after his retirement.

Looking slightly dishevelled, Samantha tightly clutched onto a large umbrella as she walked across the road, before narrowly avoiding being run down by a passing motorbike.

In one of the shots, Samantha’s character could be seen confronting the man on the bike who nearly knocked her off her feet.

With a brown satchel flung over her shoulders, she turns to face the driver before gesticulating with her arms, as if to say ‘What are you doing?’

In another behind the scene image, her character – still wearing the same outfit – starts talking to a man who is seemingly living on the streets, wrapped up in a duvet, with a pot for money out in front of him.

Samantha will star alongside Daniel Day Lewis who made a shock return to acting on Tuesday, after he quit the profession in 2017.

Daniel’s son Ronan, 26, will be making his directorial debut for the film.

The father and son duo wrote the screenplay, which is described as an exploration of the relationships between fathers, sons and brothers.

Although Daniel’s role has not been confirmed yet he is rumoured to be playing an ex soldier and was pictured earlier in the week  wearing a khaki padded jacket and white helmet.

The film will be produced by Focus Features and Plan B and will also star Sean Bean,  Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green.

Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski said in a statement: ‘We could not be more excited to partner with a brilliant visual artist in Ronan Day-Lewis on his first feature film alongside Daniel Day-Lewis as his creative collaborator’

‘They have written a truly exceptional script, and we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences alongside the team at Plan B.’
