A woman has been praised for her petty revenge on an entitled neighbour who kept stealing her assigned parking space.
She explained how she lives in an apartment complex – and each resident is assigned a parking space in correlation to their flat number.
However, she says there’s always someone parked in her space whenever she returns home from work, forcing her to find somewhere else to park up on an evening.
Annoyed, she said on Reddit: “I have an assigned parking spot at my apartment complex. It’s mine, clearly marked, no confusion.
“This one guy that seems nice in previous conversations, has parked the second time in my place, I talked to him the first time and he apologised.”
But after growing tired of his ‘selfishness’, she came up with a plan to make sure he got the message loud and clear, hoping it would stop him from doing it again.
She added: “Instead of talking to him from a second time, I just parked directly behind him. Not blocking him in completely just close enough that he’d have to do a very awkward 17-point turn to get out.
“Took him a solid 5 minutes to escape, I was having the time of my life watching him struggle from my window.”
Commenting on her post, one user said: “That is the perfect way to handle this. Well done!”
Another user added: “I bet he wished he could make a U turn in time and park elsewhere. Petty parking perfection. “
Sharing their own story, a third user said: “I worked graveyard back in the day and we also had assigned parking spots at the apartments I lived in that were all numbered.
“Sometimes when I came home from work someone would be in my spot and I would do this same thing.
“Park right behind them but give just enough space to make it miserable to leave because I ain’t got no time to f*** with this when I’m trying to get home to relax after a hard night at work.
“If they came to knock on my door to ask me to move I would promptly ignore them. People knew not to let their friend/visitors park in reserved spots but they let them anyway.
One more user added: “Got home late one night, my spot was taken. Street parking full, at least on my block. I wasn’t going to drive blocks to find a spot.
“Parked behind the car that was in my spot. In the morning I heard honking and then someone knocking on apartment doors.
“When they got to mine, I said, ‘Yup that’s my car behind yours. I parked there because someone took my spot’. He asked if I could move it and I said sure. Give me a minute to get dressed – I took many minutes.
“He said he was in a hurry and would be late for work. I took my time, went to the car but wouldn’t you know, I left the keys in the apartment.
“Go back to get them, open the hood, hit the starter and said I need to do this to get it going.
“He was patient but p***ed. I told him sorry this is taking a while. Sometimes it doesn’t start at all. Eventually I move the car but he never parked there again.”
