Puppy reunited with owner after two weeks in desert without food or water

An American man who was separated from his puppy after crashing in the Arizona desert two weeks ago has finally been reunited with his furry friend!

Michael Crocker from California said he’d crashed his truck after falling asleep at the wheel and veering off the road, FOX News reports.

His puppy Bella was in the truck with him.

“[We] went into a ditch, hit a sign and rolled back up on the road,” Crocker said.

The crash left him with a shattered thumb, which had to be amputated. He also had to have tissue harvested from his leg for a skin graft, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Crocker’s family believes Bella was either ejected during the accident or had run away from the site. They searched for her with the help of rescue groups.

After two weeks of searching the pup was found. Her leash had become entangled in branches and she’d been without food and water for nearly two weeks.

“She’s a survivor,” Crocker said.

Bella had an infection and needed a blood transfusion along with lots of food and water.

Owner and dog are on the road to full recovery.
