Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent a special message to Alexandre Lacazette after his strike partner insisted he take a penalty against Manchester United.
Arsenal beat United 2-0 at the Emirates in a criticial win for the Gunners in the race for the top four in the Premier League and Aubameyang converted a penalty in the win.
The goal from the spot-kick came hot on the heels of Aubameyang missing a penalty in the north london derby draw with Tottenham, and some fans were surprised to see the striker step forward again.
Lacazette, who won the penalty in the 69th minute, immediately told Aubameyang it was his penalty to take and the Arsenal star thanked his team-mate after the game.
He said: ‘Bad boys bad boys! what you gonna do! Today we showed again the spirit in this team.
‘I felt the love from everybody this week thanks to everyone. Special mention to my brother, Lacazette.’
Aubameyang revealed after the game he had rectified the mistake he made in his penalty run-up and insisted he was confident about scoring against United.
‘I was confident. All my teammates gave me a lot of confidence. Laca gave me the penalty and that was cool from him,’ Aubameyang said.
‘I was really focused. I looked down at the last moment and I missed [the penalty against Tottenham]. Being focused, you score a penalty.’
Arsenal are now two points clear of fifth-place United after the victory, with eight games left to play this season.
