Comic Relief is set to reignite the Oasis ticket frenzy with a prize draw for two VIP seats in Royal Box for Wembley show, which insiders believe could raise £10m
Comic Relief is poised for its biggest ever earner when viewers are given a chance to win two VIP tickets to watch Oasis from the Royal Box at Wembley Stadium.
The highlight of Friday’s Red Nose Day TV fundraiser is the “prize of a lifetime”, donated by Liam and Noel Gallagher, which is predicted to raise more than £10m.
The BBC is set to recreate the frenzy to secure tickets for the band’s sold-out reunion tour by giving fans the opportunity to claim Royal Box seats for Oasis’s August 2 Wembley Stadium show, for as little as £10.
The winners will enjoy hospitality before and after the show in a Wembley lounge hosted by Radio 2 DJ Vernon Kay, receive a guitar signed by Liam and Noel (in one piece, currently), a complete set of Oasis tour merchandise as well as travel costs and a hotel.
The competition will be promoted by a special Comic Relief “Oasis reunion – the movie” sketch starring The Inbetweeners actors James Buckley and Joe Thomas, performing a parody of the Gallaghers’ rise to fame, featuring guest cameos from Kay, Piers Morgan and Tasha Ghouri.
With 10 million fans scrambling to get tickets when the Oasis tour went on sale, insiders believe the prize draw, open for 24 days, will become the biggest single fundraising draw in Comic Relief’s 40-year history.

Multiple daily entries are encouraged, priced from £10 to £40, until April 13. Entries, are capped at four per person each day, giving someone donating a maximum £960 the greatest opportunity of winning.
Previously, the single biggest inducement to donate to Comic Relief was Adele’s performance of Someone Like You in 2011.
Phones lit up, with £4m pledged during the four minutes the singer was on stage. In 1995, Dawn French’s promise to kiss Hugh Grant, secured £1m.
An insider said: “The Oasis draw could generate more than £10m given the demand to see the band. These are the last tickets available and they are the best seats in the house. The Gallaghers really have to keep the show on the road now.”
The draw will make a substantial contribution to the 2025 Red Nose Day. Last year’s appeal raised £42.8m to “support vulnerable people and communities in the UK and across the world” and help “create a just world free from poverty.”
The telethon has reported gradually declining totals since generating £100m in 2013, with the cost-of-living crisis and declining terrestrial TV viewing figures cited as factors. Red Nose Day has raised £1.6bn since its debut in 1985.
The Oasis sketch will be the highlight of Friday’s live show, presented by Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Joel Dommett and Alison Hammond, which also features sketches spoofing BBC programmes including Strictly Come Dancing and Gladiators.
Those who want to win the Oasis tickets without making a £10 “voluntary” donation, can enter for free by post.
Ticketmaster has begun cancelling thousands of tickets for the Summer Oasis tour in a crackdown on bots.
Tickets deemed to have been bought from tout sites will be put back on the legitimate market for resale, the agency said. But some fans, who received refunds, have complained that their tickets were cancelled unfairly.
The Oasis tour begins in Cardiff on July 4 with a film crew, overseen by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, following the hotly anticipated reunion, behind the scenes.
The BBC said: “Money raised this Red Nose Day could help put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict here in the UK and around the world.
“Don’t look back in anger and miss the action – tune into Red Nose Day 2025 on Friday.”
