My neighbour keeps parking in the space I pay for – so I got ultimate revenge

A social media user has shared her frustration after her neighbour kept parking in the spot she pays for. The user shared the situation on Reddit and explained how she got an act of ultimate revenge to deal with the situation.

Tensions reached a peak one evening when she discovered her parking space occupied late at night, forcing her to walk home alone in the dark from a distant street parking spot.

In her outrage, she had her neighbour’s car towed but later worried she might have overreacted. Seeking advice, she turned to Reddit to share her side of the story.

She wrote: “I live in a condo where I have one designated individual parking spot that I payed [sic] for.

“It’s labelled [sic] with my apartment number. For the past 3 weeks, a green car has repeatedly parked in my spot.

“I have usually just let them park there and parked my car with free street parking elsewhere, but tonight I came home around 9pm to them being parked there.

“I had to park 10 minute walk away on a street that’s had a lot of robberies recently, and I am a small girl who then had to walk home by myself in the dark (this was very anxiety causing for me).

“This really frustrated me and in the heat of the moment I decided to have them towed.”

She added that she now regrets her decision as she would not like to inconvenience the car’s owner.

She explained: “I really hope that they are financially able to pay and that their car not being there doesn’t inhibit their day tomorrow.”

However, commenters were quick to reassure the woman she had done nothing wrong for arranging access to the space she pays for.

“You paid for that space and have been nice long enough,” read one response.

A second said: “You pay for it. Maybe the first few times green car parked there could be chalked up to ignorance about the spots being reserved, but not three weeks.”

Meanwhile, another person replied: “A warning note may have been a nice gesture since the tow companies will rip you off but you are in the right and something had to be done.

“You paid almost for a month for something you couldn’t use.”
