You probably won’t have ever heard of Veronica Pome’e, but we predict that before long, this woman is going to become a household name.
That’s because the beauty has become the first Polynesian woman to appear on the pages of the 2019 special issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
The 29-year-old, who hails from Perris, California, was selected as one of six finalists in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model search competition.
The editors whittled down 10,000 audition tapes from the open-call competition to a pool of 16 finalists, before narrowing them down again to six models who will appear in the prestigious annual swimsuit issue.
“One of the most difficult decisions of the year is choosing who moves on in the #SISwimSearch,” said SI Swimsuit Editor, MJ Day. “Every single woman here is a superstar in the making. The personalities, the ambition and the untapped potential are so exciting to introduce to the world.
“Each woman is so incredibly unique and special while possessing the same identical quality,” she continued. “They impressed the hell out of us. We are so excited to continue this journey with these six women and watch them take it to the next level.”
On her Instagram page, Veronica shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from her shoot in the Bahamas, making the beach, and everything else besides, look absolutely gorgeous.
With a fierce cultural pride and a commitment to revolutionising beauty standards with more inclusivity, we can’t what to see what Veronica does next.
