Mums praise ‘magic’ Nurofen tube for removing splinters, glass and even bee venom


AS all parents will know, trying to carefully remove a splinter from your child’s foot while also getting them to hold can be something of a challenge… to say the least.

Well it turns out that the perfect tool for removing splinters, shards of glass and even bee venom has been sitting in our bathroom cabinets at home all along.

Sharing her genius “first aid hack” on Facebook, an Australian mum has revealed how she uses the syringe that comes in boxes of children’s Nurofen to remove all sorts of pesky stings.

She wrote: “If you have ever bought Nurofen for kids before, you would know it comes with this little thing to measure/administer the liquid medicine.”

Singing the praises of the “magic”  tube, the mother claims the suction removes “splinters, tiny shards of glass and bee sting venom in a quick, non-invasive, painless way.”

Giving users a guide to her “magic” parenting trick, the mum added: “Simply place the outer tube hole over the wound site, press firmly against the skin, then pull the inside orange tube out really quickly.

And we have to agree with her when she added: “After reading this post, you will be stuffing one into your First Aid Kit.”

Racking up over 11,000 likes in the private parenting group, one user replied: “Such a great idea.

Another added: “Great for blackheads too.”

In other words, we can now officially use this as an excuse to bulk buy our old favourite, super sweet ibuprofen. *Adds 20 to basket*
