After just two days, things haven’t been going very smoothly, as she very loudly relates from the tranquil confines of her car.

“Listen, this won’t work! This homeschooling is really impossible. It’s not normal!” Shiri yells in Hebrew.

“From early in the morning — and we’re only on Day 2 — millions of WhatsApp messages!” she continues. “I have four kids, may they be healthy, but just imagine how many messages, how many teachers for each kid, how many subjects for each child.

“I only have two computers at home. They’re fighting from the morning about the computers,” she goes on.

“One of my daughter’s teachers is [living] in a dream world and thinks she’ll get up at 8 a.m. to see him on the screen,” she screeches. “At 8 a.m. she just manages to roll over in bed! When do you get off?!”

Shiri then complains that her youngest son’s music teacher sent over a musical score.

“What am I supposed to do with this? What, do I have a band in the house? I can’t read music!” she continues. “Dial it down, lower the expectations! It’s not logical.”

She also rants that she keeps getting messages from school asking her how one of her kids is doing.

“He spends the whole day on his cellphone — he’s fine! They don’t stop eating! How’s he feeling? Ask me how I’m feeling! Falling to pieces! I go from one child to the other — here’s science, here’s maths — forget it!”

“Now our kids will find out how dumb we are!” she says.

“It’s only the second day. If we don’t die of the coronavirus, we’ll die of distance learning. Have a wonderful day!”

The frazzled mum, whose hometown has also been hit by rocket fire, told Israeli news site Ynet that “this is not a vacation.”

“On vacation, the kids go out and host friends, go to friends, go to attractions. I’m being very strict right now. We’re really at home. No one comes in and no one leaves,” she said.

But she noted that the family is getting by with a few laughs.
