HANDS up if your children constantly ask you for snacks even though you’ve said no the first time around.
If it’s any consultation, you are not alone, as one mum has revealed that she was almost at the end of her tether when her kids repeatedly made the same request about food.
So to put a stop to it once and for all, she came up with a hack – and she says it couldn’t be better timing with the summer holidays just around the corner.
Social media user Mandi took to her TikTok profile @whatmandi to share her trick with her 657.2k followers.
In a recent video, she could be seen holding a plastic crate and a pen, as she explained: “Ok, summer’s here and you know what that means.”
The American mum continued: “It means all these kids are up in my house trying to eat all these snacks that I just spent a billion dollars on.”

Holding up the box, she added: “So we’re doing snack bins.”
Mandi then shared how she fills up the crates every day with a select amount of snacks, but that once they were empty, they were empty.
As she explained: “You don’t sit around eating snacks at school all day.”
While things like sweets and crisps go into the boxes, there are some understandable exceptions.
Mandi continued: “Fruit is free for all, so bananas, apples, oranges, grapes, strawberries, all that, that’s free for all.
“But what goes in here – this is your snack for the day.”
Mandi then filmed herself filling up a box, as she started to stock it with the snacks she knew her kids would want.
This included a Pringle pot, a packet of cheese biscuits, a cereal bar, two Pepperami, and a Capri Sun drink.
The TikToker went on to put it into the cupboard ready for her son to tuck into.
As soon as she shared her advice, other parents flocked to the comment section – and they said they absolutely loved the idea.
One said: “Such a good idea.
“My two boys and their friends will eat EVERYTHING in a day. It’s like I just spent $400.”

Another added: “So smart!”
