Mum-of-two Kerry Whelpdale – who is married to Chelmsford City footballer Chris Whelpdale – used two magnetic strips to stick her son’s toy car collection to the wall and keep them from cluttering up the floors of her Essex home.

Posting a tutorial on her YouTube channel, Kerry explained: “My little boy Jamie is obsessed with cars so as you can imagine [there are lots] hanging round the house.

“So I decided to make a car yard type thing with magnets so he can stick them up on the wall.”

Better still, the magnetic strips only set her back £6 – and let’s be honest, the cars do look pretty cool hanging up in the family home.

Explaining her genius storage method, Kerry opted for magnetic strips with sticky back plastic which allowed the mum to attach them directly onto the wall.

After this, she then trimmed the magnetic strip and attached small sqaures onto the bottom of her son’s toys so they’d stick to the strips on the wall.

Insisting that her son “loves” the new step up, Kerry added: “He can see them really easily and he can pick them up and put them back on. You can’t really go wrong.”

And as if we weren’t already convinced to try this out for ourselves, the mum says her youngest son now “loves tidying his cars away himself”. Sold.
