Debs Jones took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share her genius idea, writing: “Door hooks £2.49 home bargains – just a little brain wave.”

The accompanying picture showed two door hooks holding the base of the highchair, so that it was completely concealed behind the door.

She was quickly praised by other parents for the novel hack, with one writing: “Wish I had of thought of this!”

“Definitely doing this in the summer next year!!” another added.

“this is such a good idea,” a third wrote.

“Look at this,” another added, tagging their friend.

To which their pal replied: “Mate, I saved it earlier!”

” omg never thought of that I have my pram on mine tho,” someone else wrote.

But others insisted the hack can be damaging to doors.

“My hubby won’t let me do this apparently it pulls the hinges out and the door ends up not inline,” one wrote.

As another replied: “I learned the hard way – knackered several doors in the house from putting too much on those hooks.

“That and hanging washing on curtains rails are a big no no in our house now!”
