A MUM-of-three has claimed her once angelic baby turned into Genghis Khan overnight, regularly slaps her and eats Toblerone’s whole.
Laura Mazza, a mummy blogger from Melbourne, shares very relatable snaps of parenting with her 33,000 Instagram followers.
Laura, who runs a blog called Mum On The Run, recently shared a photo of her middle child, Sofia, chomping into a chocolate bar, as she claimed she’s turned ‘feral’.
She wrote: “My second child came into this world so harmoniously.
“She fed well, she slept like an angel, she was perfect.
“After my first no sleeper, boob rejecter, I truly felt like I was hashtag ‘blessed.”
But that all changed when Sofia grew up, and she turned into a wild child, and refuses to be disciplined despite Laura’s best efforts.
She said: “You know that kid you see throwing a tantrum, being a real s**, biting their parents bums, lifting up their mothers dress & throwing shit everywhere, screaming “F**K!” at the top of their lungs & you think, oh thank god that kid isn’t mine… well, that’s her now.
“That’s my perfect sleeper right there. My angel. she turned into Genghis Khan. She is 10/10 feral, & I would not purchase again.”
She called her “stubborn, wild and defiant”, saying: “Disapproving looks from strangers & comments about disciplining her is like white noise. It puts me to sleep.”
And Laura can’t relax either for fear of what Sofia’s getting up to.
She explained: “When you tell her to stop running, she hears, run faster, knock down a shelf of sanitary pads & bounces into someone with a drink spilling it all over them.
“If I relax for 2 seconds I know to ask ‘where’s Sofia?’ because she’s a runner that would make Usain Bolt look like a power walker.”
She said fellow parents who have ‘feral’ children know that it’s almost impossible to discipline them.
Laura said: “And I try, I do, I try to give her the stink eye & stern voice that scared me when I was a child.
“I’ll hover like a helicopter and I’ll tell her, don’t you touch that, & she’ll look me in the eye & ever so slowly, touch it with the tip of her finger & makes a noise that would summon the Blair witch.
“She is the Blair witch.”
Sometimes she thinks she’s getting through to Sofia and the little girl shows off her clamer, loving side, only to lull Laura into a false sense of security.
Laura admitted: “Sometimes though, she looks at you so lovingly with a spark in her eyes & you think, oh she loves me, she’s so beautiful, & she will raise her little hands up to me like she wants a hug & then slap me.
“Slap. Me. She does ask me if I’m okay after she’s power punched me in the face though, so I mean the compassion is there right?”
Laura says she salutes any other mum who’s grappling with a feral child, as she warned any kid could switch from angelic to angry.
She added: “To those saying ‘my child is nothing like that’… congratulations, a rude awakening is coming for you.
“I was once you, now I don’t just eat my own words, my feral child snatches them from my mouth and eats them for me.”
Hundreds of people have liked the post, as it struck a chord with parents struggling with their own ‘feral’ children.
One mum said: “My second born as well. Minus the ever sleeping part.”
Another wrote: “This sounds just like my 4 year old boy. He does the EXACT pretend hug/face slap and runs like the wind.”
A third admitted: “Yep, accurate description of my youngest, now 4 y old. I feel you!”
While this mum commented: “My third is my feral child. But never an angel. Came out screaming and hasn’t stopped.
“She’s gonna do big things one day. I just hope they’re good big things.”
And this mum-of-16 revealed she spends £360 a week on food which fits four shopping trolleys.
Meanwhile this mum-of-16 starts Christmas shopping in July and gets gifts on credit to make sure she can afford them all.
