ANY parent knows how messy meal times can get as their little one flings food around and it all ends up all over the floor.
But now a mum has been hailed a genius after sharing her handy hack to stop her mucky baby from getting their mess anywhere in their home while weaning.
Social media user Elcreate, whose TikTok account is @elcreate, said she’d mastered a technique for her son – and all you need is a plastic box or crate.
@elcreate revealed all in a video on her profile where she showed how she’d placed her baby and his food inside the plastic box.
As he tucked into his tasty grub, he was able to drop it all over himself and the tray.
But the clever part was that any leftover parts simply fell inside the box – and none of it reached the outside.

She then quipped: “Well this stops the food going all over the floor.”
And @elcreate added in the caption: “Until he outgrows it, this is working a trick.”
As the video racked up countless views and almost 500k likes, other parents were left entertained and impressed in equal measure.
Mums and dads quickly rushed to the comment section to say they loved the idea of her trick – and described her as “so smart.”
One social media user typed: “Me and the wife looking at this with jaws dropped.
“Genius, 5 star review.”
Another added: “Smart woman.”
A third followed suit and said: “Great idea.”
Meanwhile, a fourth TikTok fan wrote: “I count this as a win.”
Another person said: “Wow… clever mum. Love this!”
Others joked that this was parents’ way of getting their own back on kids for all the times they’d made a mess.
They quipped: “Baby 0 – 1 Parents.”
And another TikToker pointed out that @elcreate’s mealtime method also had an additional benefit.
They wrote: “Without clothes, you can just fill up the box with water and soap and lift up a clean and happy baby afterwards.”
