MrBeast hit by Luncly mould scandal as Rosanna Pansino calls food ‘disgusting’

Would you want that for lunch? (YouTube)

The Lunchly range of food products has come under new criticism, as MrBeast is embroiled in yet more fast food controversy.

MrBeast might be the biggest name on YouTube, but he’s not been having a good few months lately, between being sued over his upcoming Amazon show and ongoing complaints about the quality of his food products, including MrBeast Burger and Lunchly.

Lunchly is a range of snack kits marketed by MrBeast, in collaboration with Logan Paul and KSI, that contain Prime (also promoted by KSI and Logan Paul) and Feastables (promoted by MrBeast).

Previously, it’s been the MrBeast Burgers that have come under the heaviest criticism but this time food YouTuber Rosanna Pansino has complained about finding mouldy cheese in a Lunchly meal that was still two months away from its expiration date.

‘This is disgusting,’ wrote Pansino on Twitter. ‘I was filming a video comparing Lunchables to Lunchly and was shocked when I opened ‘The Pizza’ Lunchly. The cheese had mould!

‘The expiration date was still two months away! I checked online and found at least a dozen other people posting that their Lunchlys were mouldy too.’

Pansino has criticised MrBeast in the past, and some fans have accused her of faking the Lunchly footage, which also includes appearances from DogPack404 and Jake Weddle – who have been the most involved with the recent workplace allegations against MrBeast.

This wouldn’t be the first time she’s been unfairly attacked by rabid MrBeast fans though, as they issued death threats against her when she complained about being edited out of one of his videos.

Pansino claims that the mouldy item was missing the sealant around the cheese, needed to keep it fresh, but it’s unclear if that’s the same reason behind other reports of mouldy food.

She’s certainly not the first to highlight problems with Lunchly, as streamer DanTDM accused the promoters of ‘selling c*** to kids who don’t know better’ – which in turn led to a feud with KSI.

MrBeast and the other YouTubers have not yet responded to the allegations but while Lunchly is currently only available in the US, there are plans to bring it to the UK in the next few months.

Some campaigners are already warning against the brand, with Nika Pajda of youth campaign group Bite Back insisting that, ‘Lunchly is the latest example of products that are high in fat, salt or sugar targeting young people, and it’s particularly worrying to see it being pushed by social media stars who are so influential to children.’

In theory, an upcoming ban on HFSS (high in fat, sugar and salt) ads in the UK – both online and before 9pm – should limit the exposure for the line, but how effective those restrictions prove to be remains to be seen.
