Motorola has officially announced the Edge 60 Fusion, its classy mid-range smartphone rival to the Samsung Galaxy A36.
Motorola India has confirmed that the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion will be launching on April 2, just over a week from today.
It’s also tipped its hand with regard to some of the phone’s key features and specifications. Count us deeply impressed.
Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: Bright colours guaranteed
In a summary of five top reasons to get the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, the company leads with its bright and sharp curved display. The Fusion’s 6.7-inch screen will hit a 1.5K resolution, and a peak brightness of 4500 nits (1400 nits in HBM).
That’s quite the upgrade from the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion’s FHD+ and 1600 nits respectively. It will also achieve a segment-best 96.3% screen-to-body ratio.
The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion will also pack an impressive main camera, with a similar 50MP Sony LYT 700C sensor to the one featured in the OnePlus 13R. Motorola claims that its take on the sensor has been validated by colour-matching company Pantone.
This will be accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide camera, which it seems will also be capable of macro shots. There’ll be a 32MP selfie camera around front capable of 4K video recording.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: Built to last
Another stand out feature of the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion will be its durability.
Like the Moto G75 (pictured below) before it, the Fusion has received MIL-810H certification. This means it’s been put through a US military-grade test process that exposes it to extreme environments.
It’s also got both IP68 and IP69 certification. The latter spec isn’s even something you’ll find in most flagship phones, and should ensure an advanced level of water resistance.
The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion’s display will be covered by Gorilla Glass 7i.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: AI-enhanced performance
Next up is performance, with the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion running on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip.
This is a brand new chip that was only announced last month, built on a 4nm process. It’ll be backed by 8 or 12GB of RAM, and there’ll be 256GB of storage as standard with up to 1TB of microSD expansion.
Motorola claims that this will imbue the Edge 60 Fusion with the “Segment’s Best AI Experience”.
Moto AI on the Edge 60 Fusion will be able to catch you up on missed notifications, and recall memories with a prompt. It’ll also be able to transcribe, translate, and summarise recordings.
All the kinds of AI features we’ve seen elsewhere, of course, but not so much at the cheaper end of the smartphone market.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: Other specs
Motorola lists a bunch of other specs in this Edge 60 Fusion pre-reveal. It’s set to feature a larger-than-average 5500mAh battery and 68W wired charging.
The company is promising three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates, which is arguably the only area that clearly falls short of the Samsung Galaxy A36 and its six-year promise.
Otherwise, the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion is shaping up to be an outstanding mid-range smartphone. Hopefully the company can stick the landing.
