MOTHER’S Day might be later than usual this year, but that’s no excuse for forgetting to get your flowers sorted on time.
The great news is that supermarket wars and online deals mean that getting your Mother’s Day bouquet doesn’t have to break the bank.

If you’re looking to get great value, think carefully about what blooms you want.
If you’re going for giant, colourful displays you can expect to spend at least £15, but seasonal flowers such as tulips can be great value for money.
With so many options available, we’ve rounded up the best deals from supermarkets, online florists and the best emergency next day delivery deals.
As we get closer to Mother’s Day itself on March 31, we’ll be updating this page with any new bargains, so keep checking back to find the best deals.
The best supermarket posies
These days, supermarkets have seriously upped their game selling affordable but beautiful flowers all year round.
Make sure you check your local store, particularly if you’re seeing your mum on the day itself – you can pick up an absolute bargain.
Not all supermarkets have confirmed their Mother’s Day deals this early, but here’s what we know so far:
- Aldi’s Mother’s Day flowers go on sale from March 8, but you can glimpse a sneak peak at what will be on offer here.
There’s no news on pricing yet, but last year we found gorgeous bouquets from just £3.49. - Asda has plenty of fresh flowers available online, but no Mother’s Day deals yet.
Prices for flowers at the moment vary from £2 for a small bunch of roses to £10 for this Pink Harmony bouquet. - Lidl hasn’t launched its Mother’s Day flowers deals yet this year.
On it’s website currently, the discounter has a bunch of roses for just £1.99 and you can get a dozen red roses from £3.30.
Last year, the supermarket was offering Mother’s Day bouquets starting from just £3, so we’ll expect some fantastic deals as the big day gets closer. - Morrisons hasn’t started promoting a Mother’s Day flower range yet, but it does have a limited selection of flowers available online.
If you buy through the supermarket prices start from a very reasonable £6 for an Alstroemeria Bouquet. - M&S has plenty of flowers available for delivery, but you should be able to pick up bunches much more cost-effectively in store. Unfortunately, you can’t check prices online, so you’ll need to pop into your local store.
- Sainsbury’s has an extensive range of flowers available online, but no specific Mother’s Day deals that we can see yet.
The cheapest bouquet available at the moment is a bunch of eight tulips for just £2.50, while at the pricier end of the range you can get a gorgeous Indulgence Bouquet for £11. - Tesco only has artificial flowers for sale online at the moment, but the store’s Mother’s Day page suggests we’ll see flowers popping up for sale soon.
Last year, it sold a bouquet of delicate springtime blooms for £20, with free next day delivery as long as you ordered before 6pm. - Waitrose also stocks freshly cut flowers in its supermarkets, but you’ll have to head in to browse and check prices.
What are my rights if the flowers arrive late or damaged?
IF you order flowers and they aren’t in great condition, you should be able to get your money back.
Under the Consumer Rights Act, if you order flowers – just as with any other goods – and they are damaged; crushed, wilting or with browning petals, you should be entitled to a full refund, including the cost of delivery.
The rules state that items ordered must be “of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described” when delivered.
If you ordered a damaged bouquet, take a picture of the flowers to prove to the retailer that they were in bad condition when you received them.
The best online florist delivery deals
If you want to send a bunch of flowers to your mother, your best bet is an online florist.
Prices vary wildly depending on the retailer you use, so it’s best to shop around.
Make sure you check the delivery costs before you choose at it can add as much as £10 to the total costs.
- Amazon offers a huge range of bouquets online, with one-hour delivery available for Prime Now customers. Prices vary hugely depending on the seller, but make sure to check the reviews of each florist before you buy.
- Floom has loads of gorgeous flowers, starting from £28. All its flowers come from local independent florists. You have to enter your postcode to see the arrangements available in your area.
Regular delivery costs £6.99, which will arrive next day at the earliest. Floom also offers a same-day service for £9.99.
New customers can get free delivery. - Flowerworld is Morrisons’ dedicated flower delivery service for flowers sent as gifts.
Unsurprisingly, its a lot more pricey than getting a bunch in store.
The Mother’s Day range isn’t out yet, but prices on the website start at £23 for a bouquet including delivery. - Interflora has 22 bunches of Mother’s Day flowers available. The least expensive bunches come in at £30 for a Mother’s Day Pretty Gift Box.
Sunday delivery costs £10, so you may want to have them delivered early to save costs. - M&S delivery flowers range from £20 to £75 for 100 roses.
The Mother’s Day selection is extensive, with flower bags and baskets for £20 or an impressive Flower Hat Box for £75.
M&S is offering free delivery on lots of its bouquets so there are savings to be had there, too. - Next was selling Mother’s Day tulips last year, so we’re optimistic you’ll be able to get them again. They were £18 last year, and they were offering FREE next day delivery too.
- Thorntons is perfect for mums with a sweet tooth as you’ll get some chocolates along with your bouquet. There’s a great roses and Continental Box package for £35.
You can get free standard delivery on orders over £35, but you need to order sooner rather than later to make sure the flowers arrive on time. - Waitrose Florist has plenty of Mother’s Day bouquets ready for order.
The cheapest option is for 18 ready to arrange tulips at £20 a bunch, while the most expensive is £100 for the Luxury Mother’s Day Flower Garden Bouquet.
Named day delivery is £4.95 so make sure you factor that in when deciding how much to spend.
Alternative places to buy Mother’s Day flowers
If you’re worried about couriers, there are other ways to get flowers delivered.
- Shop local: Picking up a bunch from your local florist or supermarket means no delivery men to crush your gift. While local florists can be more expensive, one-day-old bouquets (which still look lovely and fresh) are often discounted
- Bike couriers: If you live in London, flower firm Petalon offers a unique bouquet delivery service. A team of buyers at the company visit the flower market each day and wrap up the bouquets for same-day delivery – by bike.
- Letterbox flowers: Bloom and Wild sends flowers by post. The flowers are packed with protective netting to keep them in perfect condition on their journey. The flowers are also sent in bud to ensure they last longer, and are sent by free next-day flower delivery via Royal Mail.
The best last minute delivery options
If you’ve completely forgotten about Mother’s Day, don’t panic.
There are plenty of retailers that will do same or next day delivery.
Some will even send your flowers within a couple of hours.
Here are the retailers that can save your bacon (and how much they’ll charge you):
- Amazon has one-hour delivery available for Prime Now customers. Prices vary hugely depending on the seller.
- Bloom & Wild does free next day delivery through the letter box. You need to order before 10pm Monday to Friday the day the flowers are due.
- Floom is giving new customers free delivery, even for same day orders.
- Interflora offers same day delivery for £8 as long as you order by 3pm. You can also order express delivery, which arrives within three hours for £13.
- Thorntons offers next day delivery free as long as you order before 4pm.
