With crammed aisles and crashing trollies, adding your kids into the mix doesn’t make festive food shopping any easier.

But Morrisons has just made that supermarket trip with your children a bit easier.

Available at 417 stores across the UK, Morrisons has announced a huge discount on its kiddie rides, costing just 10p to use, compared to the usual £1.50 – that’s a price cut of more than 90%.

With over 50 different animated characters your kids know and love, including Bob the Builder, Iggle Piggle and Roary the Racing Car, the cost-cutting measures have been put in place to ‘help keep kids entertained on the busy festive shopping trips.’

Speaking to Metro, John Parry, head of services at Morrisons, said it’s no secret kids love going on the rides located in stores, and now they can do it almost for free.

‘We know how often parents are asked by their children if they can have a go on our kiddie rides and that many parents will be heading to stores in the coming weeks for their seasonal shops,’ he said.

‘Therefore, to spread some Christmas cheer, we have cut the price of our rides to put more smiles on faces across the UK this festive period.’

That’s not the only festive change they’re making, either. In addition to the 10p rides, Morrisons have also announced kids eat free at the supermarket’s cafe’s nationwide.

All parents have to do to claim the free meal for their child under 16 is order their own adult meal that is over £5 from The Breakfast, The Classic or The Chippy menu.

Parents are also encouraged to try the cafe’s holiday special, Christmas Turkey dinners, which include potatoes, seasonal roast vegetables, turkey, pigs in blankets, and Yorkshire pudding.

The entire meal costs £8.50, with a prawn cocktail entree available for an additional £4.50 and Christmas pudding with custard for £3.50. The meal also comes in a kids’ size for £3.95, and the great news? It doesn’t come with brussels sprouts.

You’ll want to get in quick, though, as there are only 14 days left to purchase the delicious meal, which is on offer until Christmas Eve.

It comes after the grocery chain announced a major change to its reward scheme, revealing shoppers will now earn five More Card Points on each item in their trolleys.

Consumers previously were only able to collect More Card Points on selected products, and could redeem £5 off vouchers when they reached 5000 points.

Morrisons will continue to offer More points on these selected items, including up to 50 points when buying from The Best line throughout December making it even easier to nab the money off vouchers.

Coupled with the extra points across all items, Morrisons shoppers can rack up their points quickly, meaning more money off and more savings just in time for the festive season.
