Michael van Gerwen makes it three games without a win after drawing 6-6 with John Henderson in the Premier League on Thursday night.
The world number one lost to James Wade last Thursday then lost in the UK Open fourth round on Friday, before this Thursday night’s result.
The Dutchman was a red hot favourite to beat the Scotsman, but he could not get over the line in front of Henderson’s home crowd in Aberdeen.
MVG is no longer top of the Premier League table as James Wade’s 7-0 hammering of Daryl Gurney takes him to the top of the division.
‘I’m delighted with how it went,’ said Henderson. ‘I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed anything like that in my career, it was tremendous.
‘I felt emotional on the walk-on and I didn’t want to go up there and play badly. To play the best player in the world in your home town, and get a draw, has left me almost speechless.’
Bizarrely it only took an average of just over 97 from John to draw with Michael when he was averaging over 103, but that’s how darts goes sometimes.
Next week Van Gerwen takes on Gerwyn Price which could go a long way to deciding the man who will top the table at Judegment Night, or even the end of the Premier League.
