Mariah Carey’s estranged sister who died this week was reportedly hoping to reconcile with her sister before she died.

Mariah, 55, was struck with some devastating news this weekend as it was revealed that her sister Alison Carey, 63, and her mother Patricia, 87, died on the same day on August 25.

As her death has been announced it has tragically been revealed that Carey wanted to reunite with her famous sister before she died.

Carey’s friend and healthcare provider David Baker, told the Mail Online: ‘I know it was her dying wish if she could’ve at least had a conversation with Mariah…’

The deaths were announced by the singer in a statement given to PA, as she said: ‘My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend.

‘Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.

‘I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.’

The sisters fell out several years ago and in her 2020 memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, the Fantasy singer called Carey her ‘ex-sister’.

‘For my sanity and peace of mind, my therapist encouraged me to literally rename and reframe my family … Morgan my ex-brother and Alison my ex-sister…

‘I had to stop expecting them to one day miraculously become the … big brother and big sister I fantasised about.’

Mariah then explained that she was advised to cut ties with Carey and her brother Morgan Carey, 64, by her therapist.

‘I had to stop making myself available to be hurt by them. It has been helpful. I have no doubt it is emotionally and physically safer for me not to have any contact with my ex-brother and ex-sister,’ she wrote.

Baker said that the book release was hard for Carey: ‘It stung because Mariah called Alison her ex-sister. [Alison] used to babysit and take care of Mariah.

‘When that came out, she couldn’t believe that Mariah had done that because she already was not talking to her, but then she kicks Alison in the teeth while she was already down.’

In the same 2020 memoir, Mariah claimed that Alison drugged her and tried to sell her out to a pimp: ‘When I was 12 years old, my sister drugged me with Valium, offered me a pinky nail full of cocaine … and tried to sell me out to a pimp.’

In 2021, Carey sued Mariah for the ’emotional distress’ caused by the revelations in her memoir. It was claimed in a legal document that Carey said the claims were made to ‘humiliate and embarrass.’

It was also claimed that the singer used ‘her status as a public figure to attack her penniless sister, generating sensational headlines describing her lurid claims to promote sales of her book.’

Before Carey’s death, the legal battle had yet to be dismissed. InTouch reported: ‘According to court records obtained by In Touch, the case brought by Alison in 2021 never went anywhere after her initial filing.’
