Katie Johnston’s marriage to Tim Gromie was far from a fairytale, but the bride did walk away from the experiment with a new career path

Married At First Sight’s Katie Johnston might not have snagged her fairy tale ending on the romance reality series after a stormy match with Tim Gromie, but she walked off the set with more than just memories.
The ex-duo called it quits on the show Sunday night as Tim shunned the idea of moving into their Sydney pad together with Katie in the aftermath of a heated dinner party, which saw his castmates lay into him for his chilly behaviour towards Katie.
Katie experienced cringe-worthy moments during their nuptials as Tim winced at her touch and later admitted to the show’s producers that Katie wasn’t what he pictured.
Following a string of reluctant days from Tim, Katie found herself solo on the quest for marital bliss.

Fast forward six months post-production, Katie, 37, has channelled her energies into creating a free online program that’s all about spotting and understanding toxic quirks in oneself and hopeful partners. Additionally, it offers a toolkit to beef up self-love and confidence levels, reports OK!.
“Most people don’t know that Katie has a degree in behavioural science and a major in psychology, and she’s incredibly passionate about using her experiences and self-discoveries to help other women,” shared a mate close to the show with Yahoo Lifestyle.
The reality star recently disclosed that she has been concentrating on personal growth and self-love since filming wrapped up last year. She now embraces a new perspective on life, with Tim’s rejection reportedly serving as “the catalyst that pushed her to confront her issues and understand their origins”.
“I’ve gone on such a journey in my life. It’s taken me a long time to feel really good in my own skin, and I feel like this is just a good reinforcement of that,” she enthusiastically shared in a video from a photoshoot at Studio Republic, which the studio passed on to Yahoo Lifestyle.
Regrettably, the newly confident star hasn’t found love yet but is reported to “be open to finding her perfect match” while currently “focusing on herself”.
Married at First Sight Australia season 12 airs Monday to Thursday at 9pm E4.
