The report states that the contract between m0NESY and Team Falcons has been signed, and he is set to join the team officially in the coming weeks ahead of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, where he’ll reunite with his former teammate Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač.
The BLAST event will kick off on June 2nd, where m0NESY is expected to replace Team Falcons’ current sniper, Abdulkhalik ‘degster’ Gasanov. The multi-million dollar deal is said to be ‘the biggest transfer‘ in Counter-Strike history.
With the addition of m0NESY, Team Falcons’ final roster will be:
- Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski
- Emil “Magisk” Reif
- René “TeSeS” Madsen
- Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
- Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
m0NESY played a crucial role in G2 Esports for over two years, helping the team lift multiple trophies. However, following a series of underwhelming results last year, he reportedly expressed interest in joining Team Falcons.
Team Falcons, meanwhile, have also struggled to find consistency and will be hoping to turn things around with m0NESY’s addition.
Known to be one the best Counter-Strike players in the world, m0NESY won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2022 and was the runner-up for the Best Player Award in 2024. He has also earned MVP awards at four international tournaments, including BLAST Premier: Fall Final, BLAST Premier: World Final 2024 and more.
G2 Esports has yet to officially confirm his departure, but replacing a player of m0NESY’s caliber will undoubtedly be a huge challenge for the organisation. PGL Bucharest 2025, taking place from April 6th to 13th, might be the last time we see him in a G2 Esports jersey.
