WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Love Is Blind season 8.
Season eight of the smash-hit series Love Is Blind has dropped, and fans are already cringing at the unfolding drama, complete with love triangles and tears aplenty.
The opening episode saw a love triangle emerge between contestants Dave, Molly, and Lauren. Both Molly and 32 year old Educational Sales rep Lauren had their sights set on Dave, also 32 and a Medical Devices sales rep, who appeared unsure about which contestant he envisioned as his future wife, reports the Mirror.
Feelings were sparked on both sides during their pod dates. However, the situation turned uncomfortable when Molly divulged to Lauren her thoughts on Dave.
She boldly stated: “I think the people that are still seeing my person know now that I’m seeing him, so I feel like at this point, I don’t care.”
In hushed tones, she informed Lauren that Dave was the man in question, later brazenly declaring: “I have a husband.”
Left reeling from the revelation, Lauren’s distress was palpable in a VT recorded for episode two, where she tearfully processed what had happened. She reflected, “Dave was so validating in our last conversation about how he felt about me and us. Then to walk in today and hear Molly tell me that her number one person is Dave. Hearing her say his name was like a dagger to my heart.”
She also questioned whether Molly was aware that she and Dave were an item, puzzled by Molly’s casualness in disclosing their connection and wondering if it was an attempt to sow seeds of doubt in Lauren’s mind.
Lauren’s emotions spilled over as she confessed, “She’s trying to date the person I want to marry. That f***ing sucks.”
She voiced her anxiety about Dave getting to know her yet possibly choosing someone else, all while fighting back tears. A tense face-off ensued between Dave and Lauren when she pressed him on where they stood.
Dave’s admission that Molly was “fun” left Lauren feeling wounded, not wanting to hear more. The conversation turned to their potential life together, with Lauren envisioning herself as his “wife” and desiring a separate music playlist from his notorious sex playlist.
Dave reassured her that his feelings were genuine, and it seemed reconciliation was in the air as Lauren departed the pods with a smile. However, Dave’s subsequent promising date with Molly leaves viewers in suspense, wondering whom he will ultimately choose.
