But she found fame as a teenager when she started her music career at the age of 16 as the lead singer of Britpop band Kenickie.

While she has foraged a successful career she has also enjoyed a nearly 20-year relationship with her husband.

Graeme is a DJ and television producer and the couple married in 2005 and currently live in London.

Their first son, Fergus James Fisher, arrived in 2007 while their second son, Mach Fisher, was born in 2010.

Talking to The Guardian, Lauren said that Graeme had left his job to be the primary carer of their children.

She said: “My husband has gone from the job he was doing making TV programmes to being the main carer for our boys.

“He has a fantastic relationship with them, we both muck in, and to be honest, it’s all a bit of a scramble.”

Lauren also told Red Magazine there was no secret to their 20-year relationship.

She said: “I think we’re really lucky and I’m really glad we’re happy and we still get on well.

“But I’m not going to sit here and spout kernels of wisdom, because there might be people reading this going through a divorce thinking, ‘Lauren, shut up.’

Pointless fans all say the same thing after Lauren Laverne becomes latest guest co-host

“We’ve been together a long time and we get on great, but that’s not necessarily the goal for everyone.”
