Kylie Jenner has found herself at the centre of backlash over sexualising the school run with ‘weird’ joke about latex dress.
The 27-year-old is a mum of two to daughter Stormi, seven, and three-year-old son Aire who she shares with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott.
However, she’s not letting motherhood change how she dresses as she unveiled her ‘sexiest collection yet’ for her brand Khy.
In a video answering questions about the line, Kylie — who is dating Timothee Chalamet — wore a red latex dress with a dramatic plunging neckline.
A clip was shared on X, in which the youngest Kardashian-Jenner sister joked: ‘I would wear this outfit to pick up my kids from school. I would take this outfit to take business meetings.’
Fans took issue with her school run response, calling it out for being inappropriate even if it was said in jest.
‘She’s weird,’ wrote brynniethepoooh on X as 18feetdeep said: ‘She’s so f***ing stupid 🤦🏻♀️.’
Reinadelcurve criticised: ‘It’s so annoying watching the kardashian’s constantly sell sex… as a mother you know a LATEX SKIN TIGHT red dress with a purposeful amount of cleavage isn’t appropriate at a school or business setting. it’s all to sell s**t.’
‘I don’t know why yall act surprised at anything they do. It’s all for views and money,’ shared ItzCicii. ‘They don’t care about their kids. As long as they look good right?’
Kylie was forced to turn off comments on her Instagram as the backlash began to build, with much of the negativity gone from the post now.
According to Page Six, one person wrote: ‘Beautiful dress but let’s be honest, no one would pick up their kids up in that dress outside of Hollywood and your children would be so embarrassed. Kids are kids!’
Another branded it ‘totally insane’ while someone else reportedly said: ‘If you pick up your kids in that they’re cooked lmao good thing you don’t and got nannies and drivers.’
While the comment was jarring, many pointed out she was clearly joking — even if her humour didn’t quite land.
‘I feel like you guys are being dumb on purpose,’ shared Lexilexapr0 on X as elisedieumi said: ‘Everyone thinking she’s being serious is crazy now both of you look dumb.’
Lacrimosass added: ‘I’ll be the biggest Kardashian/Jenner hater but even I know this was a joke.’
_mstrdom said: ‘She would, but she never has. From what we’ve seen thus far Kylie has been a spectacular mother and dresses appropriately around her children.’
Last year, rumours swirled that Kylie and Timothee were expecting their own bundle of joy before sources confirmed that there was absolutely no truth to them.
Kylie, who became a mother at 19, has been vocal about how being a mother has shaped her into the adult we know today.
‘I come home and my kids just love me unconditionally,’ she previously told Vogue. ‘They’re just obsessed with me and that’s taught me to walk through life a little easier.
‘I’m like, “OK, well I have these little humans at home that need me and love me and think I’m the most perfect person in the world, so I don’t really need validation from outside sources.”‘
She also told Elle Magazine: ‘It took me a year to feel like myself again. At 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever.’
