KIRSTY Gallacher sparked fury last night after sharing photos of her kids and dog walking over a frozen pond.
The TV host, 48, posted one pic of a child crawling over the ice to retrieve a red ball.
Another young child watched from the edge while also standing on the frozen water next to Kirsty’s boyfriend Darren Clayton.
The “dangerous move” left some of her 401,000 followers wincing, after she raved about going on an icy winter walk to fans.
Kirsty, who shares sons Oscar and Jude with her ex Paul Sampson, told them: “Nothing better…… Walks, kids (minus Oscar sadly) dogs & nature” alongside a red heart emoji.
Many took took to the post’s comments section and slammed the TV presenter for a lack of awareness – however she quickly put their mind at ease.
One warned Kirsty: “Every year people die and drown on thin ice ponds trying to get things for dogs – absolutely gobsmacked at the lack of intelligence from v intelligent bods.”
Another said: “Is that not rather dangerous crawling on frozen water! Come on Kirsty tell them not to do it.”
One more asked: “Lovely @gallacherkirsty but please tell me that the frozen water was only a very shallow bit of water and not a pond? It is so so dangerous walking on ice. Sorry to be nanny stater.”
Kirsty replied to each one in the comments and confirmed that the water was “very, very shallow,” adding “please don’t worry!”
The star shares her 18-year-old Oscar and 14-year-old Jude with former rugby player Paul, who she split from in 2015.
She has been dating new beau Darren since Autumn 2023.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday the daughter of Scots golfing legend Bernard Gallacher revealed: “We’re very happy. We both had similar stories — we are single parents and love playing golf.
“He looks after me and tells me to have time off as I can be a workaholic. Gabby and Kenny, obviously they love him.
“We played golf with them a week ago actually.”
The star, who has two sons with ex-husband Paul Sampson, who she split from in 2015, said: “I’m usually running around like mad with the children at their sport but my boyfriend encourages me to take a day off as I work on Saturdays doing my radio show.
“I do myself in a bit sometimes, where I get exhausted and try to be everything for my children.
“It just works really well between us. And my boys Oscar and Jude love him and he’s got a gorgeous little girl. We’re very content. We’ve been together nearly a year.”
The Gold Radio host revealed they met at a fundraiser in memory of late rugby player Doddie Weir, who died in 2022 from motor neurone disease.
Kirsty revealed: “I joined Gabby and Kenny (Logan) on this Edinburgh-to- France fundraiser endurance challenge and Darren was there.
“He’s an ex-rugby player and he now has a sporting events company that he’s quite immersed in.
“I think it’s very impressive. Anyway we got talking and went on a date the week after we came back from Paris. It’s been very natural.”
CAREER PIVOT
The presenter became a fans’ favourite during several years at Sky Sports.
Gallacher worked on Sky Sports News, while she has also presented Soccer AM and Gladiators.
In 2018 she left Sky Sports for a second time in a bid to explore further opportunities.
Since 2021, she has hosted her own Saturday show on Smooth Radio and even took the reins of the station’s breakfast programme over the summer.
Earlier this month she moved from Smooth FM to Gold to launch the daily Gold Radio Drive show.
Having worked in sports and radio, she has also revealed that she wants to explore the world of fashion.
Speaking to OK Magazine, she said: “I’m looking at dipping my toes back into the fashion industry.
“I started at the London College of Fashion, and wanted to actually pursue a career as a fashion journalist.
“Now, I’m looking at projects on that front, as well, so there could be a slight departure from me… something new and exciting!”
