Key signs treasure is HIDDEN in your walls and floorboards laid bare by expert

Everyone dreams of uncovering a secret hoard of treasure, its valuable contents delivering with it a promise of untold riches that would see whatever extravagance no longer out of financial reach. Now professional treasure hunter Keith Wille has revealed how he finds the goods to helps families aiming find their pot of gold inside the walls of their homes.

Wille hunts lost items and once even helped a family discover thousands of dollars worth of items that were hidden behind the floorboards of their family attic.

The secret stash of items were located by Wille after he was enlisted by the family to take a look at their home in the US.

Speaking on the YouTube channel RediscoverLost, Wille recalled how he “received a call from a woman trying to locate a potential cash box”, and admitted finding it was “my most exciting find to date”.

The woman described how she believed members of her family had stashed away the cherished box years before.

To add to the intensity of the situation, the woman and her family were due to move away from the property to a new home, having previously delayed over the desire to find the box.

Wille used a series of techniques to try and locate the box, including using a metal detector, knocking on the wooded walls to hear out for an echo, and using an endoscope camera.

He noted how he was “constantly looking beyond the information I have”, including “looking for small things that are slightly out of place, investigating, then moving on to the next one”.

Among the small details Wille picked up over the wall was pry marks on a piece of wood that indicated to the hunter someone had previously attempted to get behind it.

That hint saw Wille find the cash box within one hour, despite the family spending years attempting to locate it.

Once inside, multiple $5,000 (£4,000) bricks were uncovered. Alongside this was $46,000 (£37,000) in bills dating back to the Thirties and Fifties.

Some even had silver certificates which meant their value only increased.

But Wille admitted to not being overly shocked at the staggering financial punch the items had, despite being stashed behind a wall.

He added: “One question I get all the time is how many treasures do you think are out there?

“I think there are countless treasures still out there and if it’s there. I’ll find it.”

Treasure often turns up at mysterious places, and in 2013 a home in Minnesota became the nest of one of history’s biggest finds when its walls were ripped apart during a renovation project.

Hidden within it was a rare comic book that included the first-ever appearance of Superman from 1938. It had been used, like newspaper, to insulate the walls, and would go on to be sold at auction for around $175,000 (£140,000).
