Kay Burley emotional as she shares huge Sky News announcement

Sky News fans flocked to support Kay Burley as she made a huge announcement about the channel.

Kay took to X – formerly Twitter – this week to share some huge news with viewers. Standing alongside her co-presenter, Kay gushed: “Good morning everybody, how are you all doing?

“A quick fun fact about us, Monday’s show was the second most watched on all Sky channels after the football. I know! Thank you! What have we got today to entice them?”

The pair announced that Business Secretary John Reynolds would be appearing on the programme, alongside a report on caregivers. Entertainment journalist Caroline Frost was also appearing on the show to talk about the new Bridget Jones movie.

Posting the clip to X, Kay wrote: “Only one Sky programme with a bigger audience than us on Monday, find out below.

“Green shoots, but how long will they take to grow? The Chancellor has her big speech today.” Plus, “Are sentences too harsh for climate protesters?”

Fans rushed to the replies section to support the broadcaster, with one gushing: “Come on Kay, we need Sky to replace the awful GB News in the viewing figures again.”

Somebody else agreed: “Let’s see Sky overtaking GB News again – and GMB!”

Another said: “I don’t know why you don’t do videos telling us where your outfits are from, you have some good blouses!”
