Katie Price is already mum to five kids, but revealed last year that IVF treatment to help her conceive a much-wanted sixth baby had been unsuccessful.
The 46-year-old model turned entrepreneur then baffled fans by sharing a series of photos of herself cuddling twins. With no signs of her having fallen pregnant, eyebrows were raised – especially when she shared that she hadn’t yet named the pair.
However, the mystery has since been solved, as the babies she was cradling in social media footage are actually a pair of ultra-realistic human-like dolls, who could be helping her promote an upcoming TV show. Katie had teasingly avoided showing direct images of their faces to the camera, so many were fooled into thinking her new arrivals were real.
In one photo, she captioned a shot of her hand touching the torso of one baby with the words: “Finally my twins have arrived.” Another photo showed her at home surrounded by family photos and getting her hair blow-dried while cuddling one of her little ones.
She wrote on that snap: “Multi-tasking with my baby girl.” The TV personality added in response to one curious fan: “I haven’t named them, I don’t know what to name them.”
The type of “reborn” dolls she’s welcomed to her home can be pricey, with some top range ones costing up to £20,000.
They’re prized for how realistic they can be, even down to their tiny individual eyelashes.
However, a source recently told The Sun: “She’s posing with two dolls. These ones are known as reborn dolls and, while they look incredibly lifelike, they’re not real.
“She’s doing it to get people interested in her IVF journey, which she’s made a TV show about for Channel 4.”
The source then added that viewers would get to see it on screen next year.
“It’s also part of her preparations for a future pregnancy, as she hopes to successfully welcome twins via a surrogate,” they added.
Katie’s eldest son, Harvey – the result of a romance with footballer Dwight Yorke – is now 22, while she shares two teenagers, 19-year-old Junior and 17-year-old Princess, with crooner Peter Andre, conceived after she met him on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Finally, her two youngest – 11-year-old Jett and ten-year-old Bunny – were fathered by her ex-husband Keiran Hayler.
Although Katie’s IVF treatment last year wasn’t successful, and it’s been a decade since she last gave birth, she longs to expand her family and is hopeful that a sixth real baby could beckon in the future.
