Kate Beckinsale has returned to social media after a month-long hiatus, posting an emotional message begging her fans to pray for her mother.
The Hollywood actress, who disappeared from Instagram after deleting all her posts, broke her silence with a lengthy statement and multiple videos of herself with her parent.
She wrote, “I wasn’t going to come back to Instagram, but anyone who has a spare prayer or magic or miracle or sunbeam, please send it to my mama, my most extraordinary, warrior, generous, humble, loving, unique, irreplaceable Mama.
“Thank you, Lord. Keep her safe this night and secure from all her fears. May angels guard her while she sleeps till morning. light appears. amen.” [sic]
Kate is seen singing alongside her mother in one video, while another shows sweet footage of the pair dancing together on a dancefloor.
Many of her followers have flooded the comments section with warm words despite not knowing the reason why Kate has asked for her fans’ prayers.
One person said: “Wishing Judy swift healing and sending you positive thoughts Kate. We miss you on Insta, but family ALWAYS comes first x.”
A second person also commented: ” Watching you and your mom together had me tearing up – beautiful people.” A third also typed: “Many many prayers for you sweet momma.”
It comes after Kate sadly lost her stepfather, Roy, last year. One year after her beloved stepfather died she took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute and reveal that she had “lost all the money I had due to how disgusting the American healthcare system is for those who are not insured” as she battled to save his life.
She wrote: “Finding my father‘s dead body alone in the middle of the night at the age of five shaped my entire life. Seeing my beloved stepfather die a year ago today will haunt me forever. it does seem terribly careless to have managed to be present for both deaths and unable to prevent either, the second time trying with every single thing I had. It was not enough.”
Kate’s biological father, Richard Beckinsale, passed away when she was just five.
