Jeremy Clarkson's latest picture sparks concern as worried fans ask 'who died'

Former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson seemingly worried fans as he posed in a very dark outfit. The 64-year-old farmer posted to his Instagram account in an apparent dig at Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton – but some followers missed the joke and raised concerns instead.

In the social media snap, Jeremy was dressed in a navy blue suit, with a crisp white shirt and black tie. He had a dark coat draped over his shoulders, as he stood posed with his hands held together in front of him.

The presenter had a sombre look on his face as he stared into the camera. Behind him was an all-black Range Rover and some cows from his farm.

Introducing his very serious looking alter ego, Jeremy captioned the post. He wrote: “Lewis Clarkilton.” But the joke seemed to go over some fans heads as they took more notice of the outfit – with some suggesting that someone had died while others quipped that Clarkson looked like he would be making a court appearance.

In the comments, one fan wrote: “Thought you’d died for a second.” While another asked: “Black tie? Who died?”

One more added: “Resembling an undertaker.” Somone else thought he looked like a movie star, as they quipped: “I honestly thought I was looking at the opening for the Italian Job.”

Meanwhile others noted that he looked dressed ready for court, saying: “If you dressed like that in Chatham, people would think that you were going to court.” And someone else asked: “Are you due in court?”

It seems Jeremy had taken style inspiration from Hamilton, who shared a snap in a similar get up just a couple of days before. He posed in the same stance as Jeremy wearing the same outfit, right down to the draped coat.

The sports car driver updated fans, writing: “There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days.

“I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.

“Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together.”
