ITV Corrie's Sally Dyvenor issues career announcement after huge soap decision


Soap star Sally Dynevor has announced some “exciting news” away from her role on ITV’s Coronation Street. The ITV soap star has teamed up with Hammonds and Hensby Homes in move that doesn’t involve television.

Sharing a post on Instagram, the Sally Metcalfe actress announced the news. The post read: “Tomorrow marks the beginning of an exciting journey as we dive into designing a unique set of wardrobes that I know you’ll love.

“Can’t wait to share the process with you. Stay tuned for updates!”

It comes as Sally had a decision to make about her time on Coronation Street. Recent reports have suggested that many soap star’s future are in jeopary on the soap as bosses are making cuts.

But while many are reportedly having their contracts axed, it has been reported that Sally’s contract has been renewed for another year, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: “Fans will be delighted to find out that despite all the exits on the cobbles, two of the show’s biggest stars have committed to another year on the soap.

“Both Michael and Sally jumped at the chance to stay and bosses were really happy about it!”

It comes as recently appointmented executive producer Kate Brooks has teased major shake-ups on the cobbles, promising shock exits and dramatic returns in the coming months.

She told the press at the time of her appointment to the role: “There are a few exits this year, and some unexpected ones that will send shockwaves. People might not expect the exits, but there are a few.”

Kate is also focusing on bringing back familiar faces and introducing fresh characters to shake up the Street.

Kate also confirmed the arrival of a previously unseen character from one of Coronation Street’s most beloved families. Kevin and Debbie Webster’s long-lost brother Carl will finally make his debut, expanding the Webster clan.

“We’ve got Carl Webster coming into the show, who is Debbie and Kevin’s brother, to build up that Webster clan,” Kate added, before revealing that “big stories” are also in the works for Debbie and Kevin building up “the Websters, Barlows, and Platts” who are the big clans.
