Chinese esports organisation Invictus Gaming (iG) has officially completed a restructuring process alongside securing new strategic investments.

The announcement was officially made on November 30th, 2024, through a post on social media platform Weibo, marking a new era for the esports team. The undisclosed investments are led by the Chinese live-streaming platform Huya and multi-channel network (MCN) company Young Sports (氧望体育).

According to a report by the Esports Advocate, iG founder Wang Sicong will continue to be the organisation’s major shareholder. Wang Sicong is known for being the only son of Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin, founder and shareholder of real estate development company Dalian Wanda Group.

iG is mainly known for becoming the first-ever Chinese esports organisation to win the League of Legends World Championship in 2018. Thanks to its endeavours across both League of Legends and Dota 2, the team has built a strong fanbase in the country.

With the League of Legends World Championship confirmed to be back in China in 2025, iG is looking to build a strong lineup to make it to the game’s biggest tournament of the year. This includes signing star players such as Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok and Song ‘Rookie’ Eui-jin, both of which were previously on iG’s world-winning roster.

According to a post by the organisation, the roster will be revealed on December 8th, 2024, at the Chengdu Gaoxin Sports Center.

“Under the strong partnership, iG will gradually complete adjustments across its divisions, upgrades for branded accounts, the establishment of a home venue, fan system upgrades, and the production of team-related support materials and merchandise,” said iG in an official post.
