KEEPING your little ones entertained can be a full time job.
Especially when you’re trying to encourage them to stay active and not slouch on the sofa all day.
Luckily, this savvy mum shared a couple of the easy tricks she used in the warmer months to have fun with her kids.
Kate Bast shares loads of clever ways to keep toddlers busy without breaking the bank.
Now that summer is well on the way, kids can spend more time in the garden, but what exactly can they do out there?
Kate suggests making a DIY sprinkler to keep them entertained and cool, and it’s really easy to make too.

First poke holes in an old pool noodle and put a cork in one end.
The simple pop your garden hose in the other end and the water should jump out of the little holes, making it perfect for kids and pets to run through in the hot weather.
If bubbles are more you toddlers thing, she has a hack for that too.
Fill up a small kids pool with water and add a few squirts of cheap dish soap.
You can then use a hula hoop to make giant bubbles, which will definitely keep the kids, and maybe a few adults, entertained in the garden for hours.
The clever tricks are perfect for hot summer days when you’re desperate to get your kids out of the house but aren’t sure what to do.
Other parents loved the simple tricks too.
One said: “You’re so creative and resourceful, so fun!”
Another joked: “I think you made the toddler excuse up to do this for the adults, I don’t see any kids anywhere!”

A third commented: It’s safer than a sprinkler because it’s not metal too!”
Another quipped: “This is such a great idea, I wont buy a sprinkler now.”
