She shared how things turned sour after the party.

In a post, she shared: “My best friend had a gender reveal for her first baby yesterday.

“After we found out it’s a boy I was hugging her and told her ‘I’m so excited for you, having a boy is so much fun! It will also be fun to be pregnant together!’

“She was surprised but very excited.”

They didn’t tell anyone else initially, but the topic came up again halfway through her friend’s gender reveal party.

She added how two other pals had asked when she was planning on doing IVF again, as they had known they did it for their first child and hoped to have more.

The Reddit user continued: “I said ‘we have actually already started since it’s such a process’ and my best friend said ‘haha, started? You already finished!’

“The other girls looked confused and my friend said ‘she’s pregnant!’

“And they were all very excited and jabbering about it, a few other people heard and congratulated me.

“Most of the time I just said ‘thank you, we are both very excited.’

“I really tried to just move on and not talk specifically about my pregnancy.”

The party ended and everyone went home, but the next day she received a text from the party host – who had thrown the party for their pregnant friend.

The woman explained: “The next day, I get a text from the host saying it was rude of me to announce my pregnancy at the party.

“It was for them and she worked really hard on it only for me to steal the spotlight.

“I apologised that she felt that way but that I didn’t feel bad for telling [best friend] and then her telling other people, as it was her choice.

“She said I should have known that it would get out and should have waited.”

The woman asked Reddit users if she was an a**hole for revealing the news to her pregnant best friend at her party.

She added: “I also understand that announcing anything at other people’s events is considered an a**hole move, but I figured since I wasn’t announcing to everyone (and avoided telling people until she did) that it was okay.

The world’s most expensive gender reveals

GENDER reveals are becoming bigger and more elaborate day by day, with people constantly thinking of different ways to up those before them.

And money is no issue for a lot of these couples – with some spending hundreds or thousands on the event.

Read on for some of the most expensive gender reveals in history.

Ste Hamilton

Wealthy property tycoon and YouTuber Ste Hamilton decided to gift his wife-to-be Isabella Rowles with a £300,000 Lamborghini, which would be in either pink or blue to reflect their baby’s gender.

Steven and Isabella and friends and family attended an extravagant event at the Belfry Hotel and Resort near Birmingham to find out they were having a baby boy.

“It was worth every second of the hard work to see the happiness in everyone’s faces on the day,” Ste said, after spending a further £40,000 on the big reveal.

Logan Paul

The wrestling star and YouTuber and fiancee Nina Agdal staged a public wrestling match for their gender reveal.

A wrestler in pink trunks took on one in blue, with the one in pink emerging victorious – signifying that they are having a baby girl.

Inga Stumbriene

The Lithuanian influencer hired planes to fly in the sky as she, her fiance and their nearest and dearest watched.

The planes dropped a load of blue confetti – revealing the pair were having a boy – but people insisted it was the “most polluted” gender reveal ever.

Anonymous couple

One of the most recent jaw-dropping gender reveals happened in May 2024, when a couple decided to DYE a waterfall to reveal if they were having a boy or girl.

After the videos circulated on the social media, the public demanded for the couple to be punished, with some suggesting they should go to jail.

Others were concerned about water contamination, as the pair had used a powdered chemical known as “Blue Lagoon” into the Queima-Pe River, which feeds the waterfall.

“I am not angry for my friend announcing to these people that I’m pregnant, it’s just the kind of relationship we have with each other’s friends/families.

“I announced to my family that she was pregnant before she announced publicly as well.

“I have since messaged my friend to make sure she was okay with it.

“She has assured me that she was very excited to find out and it was her choice to tell people.”

Many people were torn in the comments when it came to deciding who was in the right.

One said she should have waited to share the news, and wrote: “Your friend sounds like a great friend and is genuinely happy, and yes she chose to share it possibly in the interest of being a good sport.

“However you deliberately and pointedly shared with her first and told her about you on a day that should have been ‘hers’.

“She’s such a good friend so surely there’s a million other days and times you could’ve picked to share your news…you HAD to do it at something for her?!?”

Meanwhile, one said: “It’s a GENDER REVEAL PARTY lmao, they’re not even remotely on the same level.

“Not to mention it’s the host throwing a fit, not the person the party was for.”
