I was mum shamed for the rules I put in place when I had my baby girl – I don’t even kiss her on her face myself

BEING a first-time parent is hard enough.

But when Charli had her baby daughter, she had to deal with the added pressure of being mum shamed for the rules she put in place after her little girl’s birth.

She took to TikTok to share a video explaining the “rules I was shamed for as a new mum”.

Holding her baby girl, she then listed the rules, beginning with “making people wash their hands before touching her”.

“Letting her nap in my arms,” she continued.

“Not having visitors in the first few days,” was another of Charli’s rules, followed by: “Not allowing anyone to kiss her face”.

She concluded her list by revealing she wouldn’t be letting anyone except her mother have her daughter overnight.

People quickly weighed in on Charli’s video, with one writing: “I completely agree and especially with the not letting anyone have her over night except my mum I was the exact same.”

“I’m so glad someone else understands! People don’t understand why I let my mum & not my MIL.. makes me feel awful but I I can only trust my mum,” Charli replied.

“My rules too!! some family members think I’m being over the top (even though they’ve been ill) but I’m terrified of my newborn getting ill,” another added.

As a third commented: “I couldn’t agree anymore I’m the same – what you’re doing is normal and a caring mother.”

“Totally realistic rules. Can’t understand why they would bother anyone,” someone else wrote.

“So could you kiss her and nobody else? or did nobody kiss her not even you?” another person questioned.

To which Charli replied: “I’ve never ever kissed her face!

“Neither has her dad just to be on the safe side.”
