She told her followers that her son, who is just about to turn five, still breastfeeds once a day, just before bedtime.

She then shared how she always hears statements like: “You can’t breastfeed your 5 year old, that’s so weird.”

But defending her choice, Lauren said: “It’s not weird.

“It’s biologically normal and what works for us.”

Lauren went on to share her further reasons for her parenting choice, as she said she knows it’s good for her child and so she sees no issue with it.

She wrote in her caption: “My son turns 5 in a few days, and, yes, he still breastfeeds.

“Just once at bedtime, but he still benefits from it in so many ways.

Lauren went on to say that she has no plans on stopping any time soon.

Instead, she will be taking her son’s lead and making a decision together.

She revealed: “For now, I’m happy for us to keep going for as long as he wants.”

But pre-empting negative comments, she concluded by saying that it won’t last forever.

She rounded off her post with the sentence: “And yes, I guarantee that will be well before he starts high school.”
